A Few Missing Teeth
Dental Implant Bridges are one of the most lifelike and natural-looking solutions out there for replacing a few missing teeth. The teeth are porcelain which fit over a metal structure inside the mouth. This gives a secure and realistic solution.
They can be used for anything from 2 teeth to a whole jaw, but the real benefit is that because of the ‘bridge’, fewer implants need to be used. Not only does this mean better surgery for you, it also makes it more cost-effective for what you receive.
It can even be as little as 2 implants for 4 teeth. The historical alternative are traditional dental bridges which do have their downsides.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges have been around for 100 years. Until dental implants came along dental bridges were considered the gold standard treatment for the replacement of single teeth or a number of teeth. Bridges require some sound teeth to attach to – usually either side of a gap.
Advantages of bridges
- Can achieve excellent aesthetic results
- Long lived (10 years possible)
- Feel like real teeth
- Quick – bridges can be completed in 2 weeks
- Stay put and don’t move around
- Fixed in place (not removable like dentures)
- Less expensive than implants
Disadvantages
- Require solid teeth to fix to
- Bridge support teeth have to be drilled down to make room for the bridge-bridge support teeth will often fail in the long term because of the extra strain on them (5 yrs +)
- Not suitable for replacing more than 2 teeth in a row
- Not possible if large number of teeth are missing
- Not possible if teeth missing do not have a solid tooth behind them to act as a back bridge support
- More expensive than dentures

And so with that in mind, we are happy to offer free consultations, as this is a big decision for most people. We are careful to take budget, comfort and appearance into account when explaining all the available choices and there is never any pressure to proceed, and certainly not on the day.

I’m incredibly grateful to them.
I had advanced gum disease and missing/ failing teeth. The worse they got the harder it was to fix. I was so terrified of both the dentist and of being judged for allowing things to get so bad that I couldn’t even phone. In a brave moment, I filled in the contact section of the Winning Smiles website. Denise phoned me the following day. She listened, was sympathetic and booked me in for a consultation with Andrew. At our first meeting, I had scans and Andrew explained what treatments I was suitable for. I was given detailed costs of my options and I left to consider them without pressure. I opted for both upper and lower implants. Andrew explained my best chance of a good outcome was to have immediate fixed teeth on the bottom and a temporary denture at the top while my bone grafts/implants healed and integrated. The surgery was a long day but at no point was I in any pain or discomfort. Andrew and his dental nurse Sam checked on me constantly and reassured me throughout. I left with fixed lower teeth and a temporary upper denture. The next day I was slightly swollen but much better than I had expected which I told Andrew when he phoned to check on me. The remainder of my treatment was done over the following few months without pain or stress. Fast forward to today when I had my first check-up since my upper teeth were fitted. I can’t describe how thrilled I am with the final results. I smile without thinking about it, eat what I want and my general health has greatly improved. My new teeth look amazing but very natural which was exactly the look I wanted. I’m no longer terrified of the dentist and happily attend my checkups/hygiene appointments. My treatment was fantastic from start to finish and I can’t recommend Andrew, Sam and the team more highly. I really wish I’d found them sooner. This has really been a life-changing experience and I’m incredibly grateful to them.
Upper Implant Bridge, Changed My Life
I have had my new teeth nearly 2 weeks now and could not be happier
I had a full upper implant bridge and some filling and cleaning to my existing lower teeth
Now for me, this was a big step as I had probably been to the dentist once in 10 years due to fear mainly, my teeth were in a bad way
as far as me not really going out at all anymore, not smiling at all and just hating the way they looked.
I decided to get the work done and went to a few dentists near London Bridge where I live and found that money and not my interests were at the top of their list so I decided to search further online and luckily found Winning Smiles.
From the moment I arrived I knew I was in the right place, I was comfortable straight away and after a chat, with Toni, I knew they were putting me and my needs first and that was the most important thing for me.
Once the cleaning and filing was done I had the upper implant bridge fitted , by the time the day came I was so relaxed at Winning Smiles I didn’t worry too much about the surgery , I have to say Andrew Fennell was amazing all the way through and is brilliant at his job so if you need any dental work he is the man to see , the surgery was pretty much pain free and I’ve had just a small amount of soreness on the upper roof of the mouth that was expected and I know this is down to Andrews care when he works .
Winning smiles has changed my life and I can’t thank them enough, everyone who works there from the hygienists to reception to the girls who held the tubes and wiped my face I can’t tell you how nice everyone is you’ll have to go and see for yourself they are amazing.
